Grotesque Fish is the second main Pursuit in Dredge, which unlocks the game’s main story umbrella Pursuit; The Collector. My guide will show you how to quickly complete this Pursuit and get the game going.

Objectives

Catching aberrated fish

This Pursuit is triggered when you catch your first aberrated fish. When you do, return to Greater Marrow and speak with the Fishmonger, who cuts the fish open to pull out a patterned Handkerchief and tells you he’ll pay more for aberrated fish.

After leaving the Fishmonger, you’ll spot a mysterious man spying on you from your boat. He tells you to meet him at Blackstone Isle, located South on the game map.

Blackstone Isle and unlocking Dredging

Sail to Blackstone Isle, making sure to catch fish on your way. Select the Ruined Mansion when you’re docked, making sure that the Handkerchief is in your cargo.

You’ll speak with the mysterious man, who introduces himself as The Collector and promises to provide you with equipment to dredge the ocean’s depths in exchange for you finding and returning five lost relics.

Accept the agreement, and the Collector will outfit your boat with a Dredge Crane before reminding you of the five relics you’ll need to search for:

  • A ring
  • A necklace
  • A watch
  • A music box
  • A key

He tasks you with asking around the towns about shipwrecks and strange occurrences, ending the Grotesque Fish Pursuit and kick-starting The Collector Pursuit.
