Ocean Town Builder Havendock Launches with Major 1.0 Update

A major update for Havendock has been released today (April 22nd), bringing the game out of Steam Early Access after two years.

Created by solo developer YYZ Studio, the game sees you establish a colony in the middle of the ocean, building freely and customising your floating town.

You’ll have to automate production with animals and robots, explore new islands to uncover resources, and grow your settlement by attracting settlers and assigning them jobs within the community.

The full 1.0 update includes an Astronomy Island to unlock high-tech level new buildings and upgrades, as well as end-game upgrades like flying robots that deliver items.

It also includes a mysterious new NPC you’ll have to work with to solve their requests and recover their memories, a new ending with two possible futures for your floating community, along with several quests and mission logs.

In addition to launching the 1.0 update, Alex also shared a roadmap for future content, which includes cosmetic boats, customisable drones, and extra automation tools coming in the summer.

According to the Steam community post, Autumn will see the addition of pizza and vampires (Or Pizza Vampires), while Winter introduces a new island “full of magic and mystery”.

Havendock is available at 25% off on Steam for PC in celebration of the new 1.0 update, with the offer running until May 6th.
