New Reka Update Adds Gardening and Talking Animals
Reka is getting a free content update this month, adding gardening and talking animals.
In the game, which was released in Early Access on Steam in September 2024, you play as Reka, an apprentice to the legendary witch, Baba Jaga, and must explore a beautiful world as you solve quests, forage for ingredients, and uncover Baba Jaga’s harrowing secrets.
The Roots & Remedies Update will be released on May 12th, and it will allow you to plant seeds to grow various vegetables and plants, including pumpkins, cabbages, poppy fields, safe, garlic, and more – just remember to water them with your trusty Old Watering Old.
Using the harvested crops and the new Herbalist Workshop, you can craft special potions that grant you the ability to speak with all animals in the game, from cats and goats to crows, chickens, and more.
The update also introduces Lost Places, hidden points of interest located around the world that reward you with loot for successfully solving puzzles or navigating platforming sequences.
Finally, you can also enjoy numerous quality of life improvements, new outfits and NPCs, and new equipment, including an Oil Lantern and Torch to illuminate your surroundings, and the Mortar and Pestle Talisman to teleport your home.
The Roots & Remedies free update launches on May 12th for Reka on Steam.
